One of my favorite films is Spike Lee’s 25th HOUR. It’s a well-written story about a man who’s living his last day before he enters prison for seven years. In my opinion, it’s Edward Norton’s best performance. Yes, even better than American History X and Fight Club. Then you add Barry Pepper (so underrated) and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. It’s a well-crafted movie that explores the American mentality and attitude, the dream of success, and the downfalls of reaching after our deepest desires.
This is one of the best scenes in the film, clearly a Spike Lee idiosyncrasy that was used in his breakout piece, DO THE RIGHT THING.
