Welcome back indeed! World War Z has released a brand new trailer, ever mounting the importance zombie pile that will be a crucial plot point for every major set piece in this film. Regardless of this, the film looks intriguing, and I’m always down for a new zombie twist.
World War Z arrives this summer on June 21st, 2013.
I’ve been posting videos way too much, but I love this youtube channel called HISHE (How It Should Have Ended). They create animated scenes changing the endings of big Hollywood films like The Dark Knight Rises. They’re pretty amazing, and I love this one.
It’s here! It’s finally here! Been waiting for this trailer for a very long time, and here it is! The sequel to one of the best comic book/super hero films returns all familiar casts and even adds Jim Carrey. Score.
Kick-Ass 2 arrives August 16th, 2013
I’m not 100% sure how I feel about The Hangover Part 3, but considering it’s one of the most successful comedy franchises in history, it makes sense for them to finish off the trilogy. Luckily, we’re back in Las Vegas, and looking from this poster and trailer, it’s going to be bat shit crazy. If that’s a good thing or a bad thing, we won’t know. But I just hope there’s no more penises.
The Hangover Part 3 arrives May 24th, 2013
It must be a pain creating one minute teaser trailers, especially with films as big as Star Trek. But they accomplish those feats, and I’m loving this brand new Star Trek Into Darkness teaser. Shows a much more lighthearted and humor-filled Star Trek that we came to love from the first one. May 17th (May 15th for some!) can’t come any sooner.
Star Trek Into Darkness arrives on May 17th, 2013
Terrence Malick is quite the director. Someone who works in unconventional ways, his films continue to cross the absolute line of fresh methodology, and in this film, there was rarely ever a script to be in place for structure. Odd. Extremely odd. But Malick can get away with that, and though Tree of Life was a disturbing experience that I’ve started to quite enjoy more and more, I will always give Malick an opportunity. Here’s his brand new film, To The Wonder, starring Ben Affleck, Olga Kurylenko, Rachel McAdams and Javier Bardem.
To The Wonder opens April 12th, 2013
I love this trailer. I love the Mandarin’s accent and speech. I love the huge set pieces that are in place. I love the dark, struggling Tony Stark feel. And I especially love the ending of the trailer. May 3rd can’t come any sooner.
Some shocking news today folks! If you haven’t been keeping up to date with the Justice League franchise, it has recently started over as the screenwriter and his script has been officially thrown out as no director has agreed to film the mega super hero team that includes Batman and Superman. Now we have rumors that pins Christopher Nolan back into the DC world as the overviewer of all things JL and will be leading the production. Zack Snyder is rumored to direct and also co-produce, which means they really loved Man of Steel. Also part of the rumor is that Christian Bale is being asked to reprise his role (though he’s in Europe with Catwoman) as the Dark Knight and Henry Cavill will return as Superman. WOW WOW WOW. This is all early and much of it is rumors, but this would quite a shift. Here’s a video from El Mayimbe from Latino-Review:

If you were like me, you were getting pretty tired of that Tom Cruise science fiction trailer with the ovary looking plane. So it was time for a new trailer, and this is definitely the best one of the group. Better plot details, fluidity and some new aspects of the film we didn’t get to see before. This is a solid trailer, and increases the excitement for Oblivion.
Oblivion is released April 19th, 2013
I just got into the blu-ray thing (I know, I’m very late) mainly because they don’t release special features in DVD format anymore, and really, just having a hard copy of a movie is so 2000s. But films like Life of Pi is definitely worth buying because the film is a humungous achievement. I want to know how they created the waves, the atmosphere, the set design, the visual effects, Richard Parker. I want to see Ang Lee’s mastery in directing. Well, this is all going to be part of their epic 3 disc Blu-Ray collector’s set, and they’ve released a brand new web site for it. It is quite a spectacle.
