This is one emotional, breathtaking trailer and can’t wait to see this on the big screen.
I need to apologize to my readers as my inconsistency has definitely taken a toll on my blog about movies. Life has just been extremely busy with school and other aspects and I’m ashamed to say it but the last movie I watched was The Dark Knight Rises. Though the offerings Hollywood has provided has been nothing short of mediocre, it’s still no excuse for not blogging. I promise that I will continue to update with not just trailer updates, but opinion articles, news and reviews. I will be attending The Perks Of Being A Wallflower screening with a friend this weekend so that will be a treat. The fall season is also coming up which is great considering I can’t handle anymore aliens or explosions.
So in honor of the upcoming fall season that I am greatly anticipating, here are five films that I’m looking forward to the most with some other superlatives.
Most Anticipated Horror Film: House At The End Of The Street
Thank goodness the Saw franchise finally died. But now we’re treated to another repetitive and compulsive series, The Paranormal Activities, or America’s Funniest Home Videos. This is not the only franchise continually mass producing dull films including the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series. But if there’s one that I have hope for is House At The End Of The Street, mainly because I’m riding the Jennifer Lawrence train at this moment. But add in some pretty creepy trailers and a little girl being the main antagonist (those always freak me out), we could possibly have a underdog winner for the fall season.
Most Anticipated Performance:Joaquin Phoenix (The Master)
This is the year where we may seem some pretty strong male performances from Daniel Day-Lewis playing Abraham Lincoln, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Hugh Jackman and others, but the one I’m most looking forward to is Joaquin Phoenix’s comeback in The Master by Paul Thomas Anderson. Early reviews have been glowing and transcending, specifically highlighting Phoenix’s performance as by far his best work. The character is dense, deep and conflicted, and it must’ve been brutal getting down all the little mannerisms, but it is very well certain that Phoenix will get nominated for an Oscar and most likely win.
Most Anticipated Film With North Korea: Red Dawn
Chris Hemsworth’s motivating speeches are quite entertaining.
Most Anticipated Films (Oscar Potential)
Zero Dark Thirty
Life of Pi
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
My favorite Judd Apatow film is by far Knocked Up, and one of the best aspects of the movie was the marriage of Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. Now, the obnoxious relationship is put on front and center as they get their own feature. From the looks of it, especially from this trailer, we’re getting a heavy dose of comedy and drama, which is the current direction I feel the filmmaker is leaning towards, especially after Funny People. No matter what, anticipation awaits.
This Is 40 comes out December 21st, 2012.
Steven Spielberg’s new film, Lincoln, has been surrounded with a lot of anticipation, and the casting of Daniel Day-Lewis should surprise no one as few can pull of one of the greatest individual men of our time. The image that we are provided only adds to the speculation that this performance will be Oscar worthy.
If you are or are not anticipating Baz Luhrman’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby, everyone will have to wait a little bit longer to see the film as it is being reported that it will be pushed to a summer 2013 release. No matter what the reasoning may be (officially, they are saying they want as many people as possible to watch this movie…which would not be the case if Warner Bros. released it in the Fall…) hopefully it’s not a reflection of the product. Sorry I’ve been taking breaks here and there throughout this summer. Shockingly, I do have a life outside of movies. But I’m back and ready to blog. A lot has come out in the industry in the last week or so, and a big teaser trailer that has been released is Kathryn Bigelow’s new film Zero Dark Thirty, which is surrounded by the true story of finding and killing Osama Bin Laden. The Hurt Locker Team reunites with Mark Boal returning as the scribe. From the looks of it, we should have another political and war thriller in our hands and I’m excited to see this film, especially during the middle of the Awards Season. Zero Dark Thirty will be released on December 19th, 2012.
